Machine Vision Meets Music and Arts
Digital image processing is often used for interactive multimedia applications. “Cameras with low latency is key for real-time applications in music, arts and interactive design such as vision-based music instruments or motion sensing-driven dance performances”, explains IOannes Zmölnig of the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics in Graz, Austria, who drives the development of camera interfaces with Pure Data.
AVT sponsored the Pure Data Convention and participated in technical discussions on camera integration. Allied Vision Technologies has established itself as the camera supplier of choice for multimedia entertainment and arts. Spectacular vision applications such as the music synthesizer Reactable, the Virtual Stage virtual floor or the interactive Forever 21-Billboard on Times Square run with AVT-cameras.
