Allied Vision Technologies demonstrates Machine Vision leadership

VISION 2007, the world’s leading trade show for the machine vision industry took place from November 6 – 8 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Allied Vision Technologies’ booth was certainly a Highlight of the show and one of the most visited stands at all. The reason was the Premiere of AVT’s new camera series Stingray as well as spectacular demos showing machine vision applications in the entertainment field.

Many visitors played with the automated table soccer game on display on the booth. But because of its incredibly fast vision system using an AVT Pike digital camera as an eye, the robot won nearly all the games.

Another highlight was the presentation of the Reactable, an experimental electronic music instrument developed by a research team of the University of Barcelona, Spain. The synthesizer uses machine vision as a human-machine interface with a Guppy Camera from Allied Vision Technologies.

Last but not least, visitors of the AVT Club Vision Lounge were invited to place their bets at a Roulette table equipped with a Guppy camera. A special application identified the position of the ball and spoke out the winning numbers automatically.
