Allied Vision Technologies starts an extensive refresh of its software line-up with a comprehensive update of the popular AVT FirePackage and the launch of the second release of the AVT Active FirePackage software development kit (SDK).
New AVT FirePackage v2.9:
Enhanced functionality and full Stingray smart features support
AVT’s FirePackage V2.9 provides expanded functions and improvements for its universal C-programming interface (UniAPI), such as an easy upload of Look-up Tables (LUT), a functional improved multi-camera operation and several examples that explain how to use UniAPI with third-party software solutions like Open eVision from Euresys or the MATROX Imaging Library. This version also provides a plug-in for ImageJ image-processing software that exemplified how to use the UniAPI running under Java.
This release of the AVT FirePackage expands the functions of the AVT SmartView camera test and configuration tool including a new Look-Up Tables tool that makes it easy to edit, load and store LUTs.
Last but not least, this new AVT FirePackage now offers users of the recently launched Stingray camera series full support of all currently implemented SmartFeatures.

AVT Active FirePackage udate:
ActiveX-based SDK for plug-and-play programming
The new AVT Active FirePackage is a software development kit (SDK) that focuses on ActiveX Control based programming, but also provides interfaces for DirectShow and TWAIN for interfacing to third-party imaging software solutions.
The SDK is compatible with Microsoft Windows (Vista, XP, 2000) and includes an IEEE1394 digital camera system driver that is based on the Windows Driver Model (WDM). The driver can be installed manually, but also via an automatic driver install tool.
The AFP has been created for programmers who are familiar with ActiveX Controls, COM, DirectShow or TWAIN, and who want to achieve their goals quickly in a comfortable way by using application development tools such as Visual C++, Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, Java, Delphi, or others.
With the new Active FirePackage, Allied Vision Technologies provides a plug and play solution that immediately and exclusively supports any AVT 1394a or 1394b digital camera.
