AVT Cameras - Pike

Image Pre-Processing:
Make up the image quality in the camera by several features without using any PC calculation power.
White Balance:
Keeps up a color balance
Real-time shading correction:
Equalizes inhomogeneous illumination effects by light source and lens.
LUT (Look-Up Table)
Fully programmable contrast behaviour
(Inverted image, negative offset, Gamma, etc.)
On-board color interpolation:
Interpolates original RAW image to YUV4:2:2, YUV4:1:1 or RGB image information.
Color correction / hue / saturation:
3 different smart features to pre-process the color response of the camera so that even challenging colors can be displayed perfectly.
Trigger, connectivity and control:
Complicated application?
The PIKE's list of trigger features provides a flexible solution.
Daisy chain:
The PIKE is equipped with 2 IEEE 1394 ports, which enable multiple camera connections in achain.
Direct fiber:
In the 'fiber' version of the PIKE one port is configured as a GOF port. (connector 2 x optical fiber on LCLC)
Trigger delay:
If the acquisition needs to happen with delay to the trigger event.
Asynchronous & synchronous triggering:
The PIKE allows the immediate start of exposure initialized by an external trigger without any significant latency. This greatly enhances the
inter-camera synchronization of mulitple cameras.
Multi-shot:
Use 1 trigger to start the acquisition of an image sequence.
HW / SW triggering:
The PIKE supports asynchronous hardware as well as software triggering (via command).
GPIOs:
The PIKE provides 2 GP input and 4 programmable output ports. The status of the Input Port can be polled via SW command.
Per Default, the input is prepared as trigger input. The output ports can be used as strobe trigger or camera busy detection signal.
Deferred image transport:
Due to the internal memory in the PIKE, several images can be stored temporarily inside of the camera. With 'deferred image transport' the images can be transferred to the host PC on
demand independently from the image exposure.
RS-232 interface:
The PIKE is equipped with an RS-232 port to ease the control of external devices in the system.
Status LEDs:
The LEDs of the PIKE help to troubleshoot tricky situations. Power as well as the operation status (Blink code) of the PIKE are indicated by the LEDs.
Dimensions and Housing:
- Shaped for industrial environment
- Mechanical robustness (shock, vibration)
- C-Mount
- Electrical robustness (CE, FCC Class B)
- Ultra compact dimensions
Software
We control both sides of the cable: select between 3 powerful AVT Software packages for Standard and special Applications running under Windows and Linux.
AVT Fire Package:

AVT Direct Fire Package:
- WDM, Direct X and TWAIN based Software Package.
- Provides compatibility to a huge Software World.
AVT Fire4Linux:
- Special Linux (SUSE / Red Hat) based Software for AVT Cameras.
- Easy Entry into the Linux world, easy Plug-and-Play with 1394a/b.
» Gamma LUT
Freely programmable Contrast Behavior. One lookup table is programmable in the internal memory of the PIKE and can be switched into the signal path as needed. LUTs can be created with a PC - for example with a standard program like Excel - and then easily loaded into the camera. The advantages of the PIKE´s integrated lookup table become especially apparent during complex image processing tasks such as the creation of non-linear characteristic functions for the accentuation of different image levels (gamma LUT) or for the thresholding operations.
» Modular Camera Concept
To have the camera properly fit into the available space in theapplication of the customer, there are several different special housing versions available:
• Angled Head (90°, 180°)
• Turned Head (90°, 270°)"
