Image Pre-Processing:

Make up the image quality in the camera by several features without using any
PC calculation power.

White Balance:
Keeps up a Color Balance

Shading Correction:
Equalizes Shadowing Effects. Each pixel can be corrected and the compensation of all unequal lighting, lenses and more can take place in the camera on the fly. Separate processing on the PC is unnecessary and saves time.

Color Correction:
Improves Neutral Color Response

Hue:
Turns Color Space, changes Colors

Saturation:
Intensifies or reduces Color Response.

The Oscar’s flexibility provides a solution.

Trigger delay:
If the Acquisition needs to happen with delay to the trigger event. The OSCAR allows the immediate start of exposure initialized by an external trigger without any significant latency. This greatly enhances the inter-camera synchronization of mulitple cameras.

Multi Shot:
Use 1 trigger to start the acquisition of an image sequence. The OSCAR processes the software controlled One Shot also asynchronously.

Deferred Image Transfer:
Fully Control image processing workload on the bus and your PC. This gives you a chance to reduce hardware costs!

Preview Mode / High Resolution:
Use the Live Preview of the entire field of view at low resolution to prepare object position, focus and light conditions easily. Change into High Resolution Mode to get access to all details. This feature is very common in many Microscopy and Medical Applications.

High SNR Mode:
Use this mode to improve SNR, Dynamic Range and Noise in your image significantly! The camera processes a High SNR Image internally and outputs an up to 16 bit image and 24dB higher Signal to Noise Ratio. This feature is very common in Astrology Applications. The object must not move during acquisition.

Special Monochrome Mode:
Emulate a Black & White Camera behavior with 4 different special Monochrome Modes. The Camera provides high resolution 8 bit monochrome images, generated by selectable color planes (Red, Green, Blue, All). This feature is very common in many Medical Applications. (Acquisition with contrast agent) For a Color Camera, monochrome MTF charts are hard to display. Properly use the Oscar as a monochrome camera anyway.

Connectivity and control:
The OSCAR offers 2 programmable opto-coupled inputs and outputs. Apart from allowing a free-run start, the OSCAR offers a number of trigger possibilities to precisely record complex events and applications - such as the monitoring and control of external mechanical parts, the switching of different light sources (e.g flash trigger) and the status monitoring of the camera itself.

Freely programmable Contrast Behavior. One lookup table is programmable in the internal memory of the OSCAR and can be switched into the signal path as needed. LUTs can be created with a PC - for example with a standard program like Excel - and then easily loaded into the camera. The advantages of the OSCARS´s integrated lookup table become especially apparent during complex image processing tasks such as the creation of non-linear characteristic functions for the accentuation of different image levels (gamma LUT) or for the thresholding operations.
