Image Performance
Image Pre-Processing:
Make up the image quality in the camera by several features without using any PC calculation power.
White Balance:
Keeps up a Color Balance.

A further smart feature of the all unequal DOLPHIN is unique shading correction. Each pixel can be corrected and the compensation lighting, lenses and more can take place in the camera on the fly. Seperate processing on the PC is unnecessary and saves time.

The Dolphin´s flexibility provides a solution.
Trigger delay:
If the Acquisition needs to happen with delay to the trigger event. The DOLPHIN allows the immediate start of exposure initialized by an external trigger without any significant latency. This greatly enhances the inter-camera synchronization of mulitple cameras.
Multi Shot:
Use 1 trigger to start the acquisition of an image sequence. The DOLPHIN processes the software controlled One Shot also asynchronously.
Deferred Image Transfer:
Fully Control image processing workload on the bus and your PC. This gives you a chance to reduce hardware costs!
The Dolphin's many integrated smart features make numerous image processing tasks possible on the fly, which can lessen the load on a PC with downstream image processing capability.
Sequencing:
The LUT's as well as the configuration of the AD converter and the image sizes during partial scans can be switched picture-perfectly through the use of sequencing. Multi-variable use in industrial image processing thereby becomes possible, for example the compensation of image quality as a consequence of different illuminational colours during complex image inspection.
16 Image Caching:
The DOLPHIN can save up to 16 highresolution images to its memory (15 images F-201). The taking of images and their subsequent read-out is completely seperated by the image cache and triggering. The speed of the image read-out can be controlled thus limiting the bus load. The easy caching of images makes for a much finer filtering of images.
Connectivity and control:
The 12-pole Hirose-connector of the Dolphin directs all digital input and output signals as well as the optional power supply and the serial port. Compatible cables (including those to client specifications) in different lengths are obtainable from Allied Vision Technologies.

Software
We control both sides of the cable: the API software OHCI is the smart software for integrating IEEE1394 cameras into applications.

» Gamma LUT
Freely programmable Contrast Behavior. One look-up table is programmable in the internal memory of the DOLPHIN and can be switched into the signal path as needed. LUTs can be created with a PC - for example with a standard program like Excel - and then easily loaded into the camera. The advantages of the DOLPHIN´s integrated lookup table become especially apparent during complex image processing tasks such as the creation of non-linear characteristic functions for the accentuation of different image levels (gamma LUT) or for the thresholding operations.
