Small But Powerful: AVT´s extensive choice of suitable lenses
Besides cameras, AVT offers a wide range of lenses ideally suitable for the growing requirements of higher detail resolution, enhanced contrast and compact size, all at the same time. They are ideal for compact high resolution mega-pixel cameras.
And for conventional range of image processing applications, the notably improved quality of next generation compact lenses is helpful: They provide the foundation for robust image processing, helping you to get the best overall solution together with your AVT cameras. Typical applications include completeness checking, surface analysis, contour survey as well as numerous applications in robotics, in which a compact form-factor and a small weight are extremely important.
Wide angle lenses are especially good for showing entire larger objects in a short working distance. Longer focal length allows more distant objects to fill the entire sensor field, which would not be possible with a “normal” focal length.
Flange Back Length
There are two standards:
C-Mount = 17.526 mm and CS-Mount = 12.500 mm.
This is the distance from the beginning of the lens thread of the camera to the CCD sensor. Due to variable manufacturing tolerances the flange back length can be fine tuned using the alignment adjustment features of the camera (only PIKE and OSCAR Series).
The aligning of the flange back length of the camera has to be done with an open aperture. The exposure can be controlled during the adjustment with the help of an ND-Filter or with short shutter times.
Calculation of Focal Length
The coverage relates in a certain ratio to the current lens focal length. This ratio can be described with corresponding formulas.
Depth of Field
When stopping down a lens, the depth of field will increase. Short focal lengths have a wider depth of field than the longer focal lengths.
ZOOM-Lenses
Zoom-Lenses would be used, to achieve a full-field image, for applications requiring non-standard focal lengths. Due to their variable focal length Zoom-Lenses provide a high flexibility.
