The following is a list of our recommended SDKs (Software Development Kits) including IEEE 1394 and GigE Vision drivers. All SDKs from Allied Vision Technologies are available for download free of charge.
Please select a software package to access the download page and relevant literature.
The AVT 1394 Bus Driver eliminates the existing speed limitations of the original Windows driver. This enables AVT 1394b cameras to run at S800 data rate (800 MBit/s) under Windows Vista and XP (SP2/SP3).
The AVT FirePackage gives 100% control of the 1394 bus, even with multi-camera applications. It includes a powerful viewer application, which gives easy access and instant control of the camera's Smart Features - without any programming. The AVT SmartView viewer is ideal to explore all camera features out of the box.
The sources provided with the AVT Fire4Linux package are portable to all Linux distributions. To ease the use of this SDK especially for Linux beginners, the package supports also the standard packet managers of (open) SUSE and Red Hat/Fedora distributions.

The legacy Prosilica 1394 SDK and 1394 Viewer is free software for legacy Prosilica EC and CV cameras on 32 bit Windows XP only. For 64 bit or Windows 7 32 bit support, use AVT FirePackage. AVT FirePackage for legacy EC and CV cameras requires the purchase of the AVT 1394 Bus Driver. Contact your AVT distributor for more information on purchasing a license.
The AVT PvAPI SDK supports all GigE Vision cameras from AVT except Bigeye, Pearleye, and Goldeye. PvAPI offers support for Windows, Linux, QNX, and OS X, allowing the same code base to be deployed across all major operating systems.
First time users, and those evaluating an AVT GigE camera are encouraged to download the GigE Sample Viewer for Windows. This allows users to operate AVT GigE VisionĀ® cameras and explore camera features right out of the box. For Linux, OSX or QNX, download the appropriate AVT PvAPI SDK. Precompiled versions of SampleViewer are included in the bin-pc directory.
