ActiveDcam and ActiveGigE are ActiveX-based universal SDK designed to provide developers with a rapid access to FireWire (IEEE 1394) and GigE Vision® digital cameras. Unlike a standard C/C++ API, they do not require an expert level programming and can be used virtually in any programming environment. When using ActiveDcam or ActiveGigE, you simply drop one or several objects on the surface of your application and you have full control over multiple cameras, plus the ability to display the live video right away. It literally takes minutes to develop a simple application while having very basic programming skills. You can even insert the control into an MS Word or PowerPoint document and have the live video embedded right into your presentation!

ActiveDcam and ActiveGigE offer comprehensive property dialogs with full control over camera attributes, time-lapse AVI 2.0 recording with selectable compression, instant access to image buffers and pixels, real-time image processing, color overlays of graphics and text, image flipping and rotation, histogram and statistical calculations, frame averaging and integration, built-in background correction, multicasting and display anti-tearing. Included TWAIN and DirectShow drivers provide a universal plug-and-play interface between FireWire or GigE Vision® cameras and third-party imaging and video recording applications.

Bundled with the SDKs are ready-to-use applications and multiple code samples in different programming languages including C++, C#, VB6, VB.NET, Delphi, Java, Python, Adobe Flash and MATLAB. A highly optimized network filter driver, 64-bit support, enhanced thread-scheduling and proprietary video conversion algorithms place ActiveDcam and ActiveGigE among the fastest camera SDKs on the market.

On the basis of a close collaboration with A&B Software all AVT IEEE 1394 and GigE Vision cameras are supported by ActiveDcam and ActiveGigE.
Additionally, the A&B Software product line also includes ImageWarp, an industrial and scientific image analysis package fully compatible with AVT cameras.
